Just a short distance above Meiringen, the Alpbach cuts into a narrow rocky gorge. The trail runs close to the water, sometimes along exposed sections, and offers a much rawer contact with the landscape than the easily accessible Aare Gorge.
It is intended for more experienced hikers with a sure step and no fear of heights. In wet or unfavorable weather, it is better to choose another program. For the right moment and the right guest, however, it is one of the most authentic small adventures right by Meiringen.
