At 1 835 metres, Engstlensee lies surrounded by mountain meadows and a sweeping alpine panorama. Compared with better-known destinations, everything here moves a little slower — ideal for a day without a fixed plan.
Stay by the lake, take an easy hike via Tannalp, stop for lunch or, in summer, watch cheese being made at Engstlenalp. A place where it is easy to spend several hours without feeling anything needs to be rushed.
