Just a few steps from Meiringen, the landscape narrows into a tight gorge where the turquoise Aare has carved into the limestone rock for thousands of years. Walkways and tunnels lead directly above the water, highlighting the coolness, sound and power of the current from up close.
The easy path through the gorge is ideal to start your stay, for a family outing or as a shorter programme between longer mountain days. In summer, an evening visit is also worth considering, when part of the gorge is illuminated.
