Above Lake Brienz the waters of the Giessbach divide into several cascades and descend through the forest past the historic Grand Hotel to the turquoise surface. The place has a different energy from high-alpine hikes — greener, more romantic and a little slower.
The most beautiful approach is by water: boat to the Giessbach See landing stage and from there by historic funicular or on foot up to the hotel and waterfalls. The outing can easily be combined with a boat trip on the lake.
