Ballenberg gathers historic houses, farm buildings and crafts from different parts of Switzerland into a living landscape that is not explored like a conventional museum. In the houses, cooking takes place, wood is worked, bread is baked and traditional crafts remain in motion.
Allow at least half a day for the visit. Families appreciate the animals and open space, adults the architecture, crafts and the chance to see how life was lived in the individual regions a few generations ago.
